(A)- Noah is an example of an Old Testament Household.
God made a house call with Noah and his family while the world around them was living in sin and rebellion toward the Lord!
The ark is a type of GOD'S Covenant of Grace and all who were under that covenant were saved from the destruction that came upon those outside the Ark. Noah had preached for 120 years to the people around him that the judgment of God would come upon them if they didn't repent of their sins and ask for God's mercy to save them but they all refused except for Noah and his family!

Genesis 7:1- "And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation."
Hebrews 11:7- "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith."

I contend that when parents live a righteous life, the children will follow them into salvation in most cases.

(B)- Lydia is an example of a New Testament Household.
Lydia met Jesus through the preaching of the Apostle Paul and her household came to know the Lord through her testimony.
Acts 16:13- "And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither."

Acts 16:14- "And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul."

Act 16:15- "And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us."
Lydia was anxious to serve the Lord after she was saved and baptized. She invited Paul and his company of preachers into her house several times. When a person is born again he or she begins to think about what they can do to serve the Lord!

Luke 14:23- "And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."

(A)- God sends believers on field trips-Luke 14:23.
God sends born again believers out to where ever people live to invite them to come into God's house and to be saved.

(B)- God sends Preachers on field trips- Acts 8:26-39.

God sent Phillip the evangelist on a field trip. God will meet a sinner where ever he finds him and minister to his needs like in acts 8:26-39 where GOD called Philip the evangelist out of a camp meeting at Jerusalem where 5,000 had just been saved and directed him out into the desert to explain to the Ethiopian eunuch how to be saved! The eunuch was sitting in a chariot and from an expensive set of scrolls he had recently purchased at Jerusalem; was reading from the book of Isaiah about the atoning blood of The Lamb of GOD but he didn't understand how to be saved until Philip came up to him and ask if he understood what he was reading and the eunich replied- "How can I except some man should guide me"? I tell you, GOD uses Preachers to lead men and Women to Christ. No manner of literature will suffice without a personel witness. For this reason GOD sends witnesses on field trips to tell people about His Darling Son and his mighty grace to save. 1 Corinthians 1:21- "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe."

Acts 8:26- "And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert."

Acts 8:27- "And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet."

Acts 8:28-29- "Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot."

Acts 8:30- "And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?"

Acts 8:31- "And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him."

Acts 8:32- "The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:"

Acts 8:33- "In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth."

Acts 8:34- "And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?"

Acts 8:35- "Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus."

Acts 8:36- "And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?"

Acts 8:37- "And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

Acts 8:38- "And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him."

Acts 8:39- "And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing."

God sent me as a young preacher to a jail house where sinners were in need of hearing the gospel and being saved. This story reminds me of the time when I had just been called into the ministry and I was preaching in Jails every Saturday, so I had the jailer open the large holding cell where maybe a dozen or so men were contained of which most were African Americans and I began by saying, " I want to preach to you about the love of God and the Sacrifice His Son made for your sins ". I will never forget what one of them said:" THAT IS A WHITE MAN'S BOOK".

God impressed me to preach to them from acts chapter 8 about the Salvation of The Etheopian Eunich. I came back with the reply, "NO THIS IS A BLACK MAN'S BOOK". When I was done preaching and gave an invitation to make Jesus Christ their Saviour and Lord; five black men bowed their heads and ask Christ to have mercy on them and forgive their sins for Jesus sake and to come into their hearts to live forever. I tell you this makes our efforts worth it all. When I left the jail cell the jailer told me he wouldn't go into that jail cell with those criminals for all the money in the world. I replied that I didn't go in there for all the money in the world, I went in there to tell them about a God who loves them and is ready to save them and about God's dear Son who shed His Blood for them! By God's grace that day, faith came by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Isaiah 45:22- "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else."

For this reason GOD sends Missionaries to the uttermost parts of the earth to tell them how to know his Son in the free pardon of sin. There is a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun.

Mark 16:15- "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
That should be every Christians goal and objective to reach the lost with the

1- God makes house calls to get sinners saved.
2- God makes field trips to get sinners saved.
3 God does world class tours to get sinners saved.

What about you? Are you saved? You need to know for sure that you have repented of your sins and believed that Jesus paid your sin debt on the cross and that he arose from the dead. You need to ask Jesus into your heart to live forever and he will save you. You have his word on it!
