5 Ways to Please God

(A)- Preaching the gospel pleases God.
Galations 1:15-16- "But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

1 Cor.1:21- "It PLEASED GOD by the foolishness of preaching, to save them that believe."

1Corinthians 1:21- "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe."

(1)- God is pleased with every salvation experience!
"Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,"
(a)- Not Hyper-Calvanism. We are not pre-destined to be saved but according to His foreknowledge, He knows who will trust Jesus and be saved. No one is predestined to go to Hell as stated in the teachings of Hyper-Calvanism.

(b) Salvation is available to all.

1Tim 2:4- "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."

Romans 10:12- "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him."

Romans 10:13- "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

(2)- God has no pleasure in the death and destruction of the wicked.

Ezekiel 33:11- " Say unto them, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live:"

Philipians 2:13- "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."

There is a purpose and a job for every Christian. God does not call everybody to be a Pastor, Preacher or Missionary but He does call every child of his to have a purpose in the body of Christ.

Some can help by Prayer, some can help by using their talents to drive a vehicle to deliver the elderly and children to church services, others can visit those who are confined to hospitals, and many other works of faith are available to those who care.

Sending Missionaries by financial giving is the heart throb of God. The Holy Spirit will lead each Child of God into the service He wants them to do.

2Thessalonians 1:11- "Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:"

1Thessalonians 4:1- "Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more."

Your Christian walk should be pleasing to God.

(1)- Please God by obeying his commandments.
1Thessalonians 4:2-
"For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus."

(2)- Please God by keeping your life free from Adultry.
1Thessalonians 4:3-
"For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:"

(3)- Please God by making your life honorable.
1Thessalonians 4:4-
"That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;"

(4)- Please God by not going after that which is forbidden.
The Greek word Concupiscence is ep-ee-thoo-mee'-ah which means to leave off that which is forbidden. For instance; if you see a person of the opposite sex that appeals strongly to you and the person is married, you should never make any effort to pursue a relationship with that person under any circumstances!
1Thessalonians 4:5-
"Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:"

(5)- Please God by being honest.
1Thessalonians 4:6-
"That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified."

(6)- Please God by remembering that God is Holy and he expects us to practice holiness.
1Thessalonians 4:7-
"For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness."

(7)- Please God by letting the Holy Spirit lead our lives.
1Thessalonians 4:8-
"He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit."

(8)- Please God by loving the brethren.
1Thessalonians 4:9-
"But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another."

1Thessalonians 4:10- "And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;"

(9)- Please God by minding your own business and working to provide for your family.
1Thessalonians 4:11-
"And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;"

(10)- Please God by having a good testimony toward the unsaved.
1Thessalonians 4:12-
"That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing."

These five things please God.
1-You making full proof of your ministry.
2-People getting saved before it is too late.
3-God is pleased to make you a child of his.
4-Serve God with all your heart.
5-Christians walking in sanctification.
